There are a number of ways to increase the visibility of your business in searches for local businesses.
The most important is to add your business to Google My Business. If you haven’t already done this go to www.google.co.uk/business/go/
Make sure the information you enter on Google My Business is the same as on your website. This will encourage Google to give you a higher search engine ranking.
Secondly, include your location in your web content as much as possible. Without overdoing it!One way to do this is to make sure that all your reviews and testimonials include the location of the reviewer e.g. Sam Smith, Horsham, West Sussex.
Also, include your location and phone number in a website footer, which appears on every page of your website. The area code of a landline phone number is a location factor which Google takes into account. So if you have a landline number, this will help your search engine ranking position for local searches.
Finally, get your business added to local online business directories. For example Yelp, Yellow Pages and Scoot. Many of these are free. Also, local directories such as Visit Horsham and Hello Horsham.
Getting found in local search is a powerful way of growing your client base and your business. Make the most of these ideas so that your business gets found more easily!
